Stavropoulos Late 1970's Silver Silk Devoré Velvet Polkadot Gown

About the Item

This stunning Stavropoulos gown from the late 1970's has been expertly crafted with a decadent silvery grey polkadot velvet devoré reminiscent of the 1920's. Truly one of the most underrated designers of the era! Beneath the outer layer, five layers of cream colored silk chiffon add airy volume to the full length skirt. Each layer is cut on the bias with hand rolled edges for a divine fit and finish. With sleek spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline, and a ruched bust that extends down the front of the dress, this piece is deeply flattering and feminine! There is some interior boning in the bodice as well as an invisible zipper in the back for easy dressing. We've included a Stavropoulos runway photo from his Fall 1978 collection. We have not pinpointed this gown to be from any particular collection with absolute certainty, but the similar shimmeringdevoré and fabulous photo felt share-worthy!
