Pristine Edwardian Hand Made Lace & Silk Wedding Dress

About

Exceptional and incredible vintage Edwardian wedding dress with amazing top layer of hand made lace featuring floral designs. The lace looks to be Brussels and/or tambour lace applied to machine-made net and both bobbin and needle lace motifs. Underneath there is a longer ivory silk layer and lining through the skirt and bodice, leaving the sleeves sheer. It fastens at the back with a series of hooks and eyes and poppers and features an empire line band under the bust where it is fitted, rather than at the waist. All layers of the skirt are shorter at the front and longer at the back. For an original dress circa 1912- 1915 it is in truly excellent to almost pristine condition, especially for something of this age. It is truly wearable and has seen no alterations that are perceptible in all that time. The best fit would be size US 4, UK 8; however, it could also be worn by a size smaller or larger than this with very minor alterations.
