About

Alexander McQueen 'Eshu' Autumn/Winter 2000–2001

An early and rare Alexander McQueen black fur tribal jacket from the highly sought after 'Eshu' collection which was inspired by the Nigerian, Yoruba tribe.

The jacket is of black sheared rabbit fur with long black/brown goat hair collar, cuffs and hem. The sleeves are cut wide and hang loosely with an exaggerated cuff. McQueen intended for the clothes of this collection to look raw and worn to highlight his concept.

Being from the time McQueen was at his most experimental when his collections were referred to as 'art' rather than fashion, this jacket ideally belongs to a museum or serious collector.
