Vintage 1960's Larry Aldrich Marie McCarthy Beaded Embroidered Waistcoat UK 10

About the Item

This truly magnificent 1960's waistcoat by Marie McCarthy for Larry Aldrich, rendered in a woven cream wool and embellished with trailing gold soutache embroidery, cream silk embroidery, pearlescent beads, iridescent claw set rhinestones, and silver rhinestones, finished with gold bugle beads and rounded gold beads, in a paisley pattern, is a rare piece to behold. The V shaped neckline of the waistcoat, is framed by a simple shoulder line and a sleeveless cut. The neckline and arm holes are edged with borders of floral and geometric beadwork and embroidery, framing the paisley pattern along the bodice and back of the waistcoat. The simple cut of the bodice draws in with a single hook and eye, setting off the tailored darts along the bust-line and simple elegant line of the piece. This waistcoat is fully lined in silk. Label: Marie McCarthy For Larry Aldrich Size: UK 10-12 US 6-8 Measurements: Shoulder to Shoulder: 15.5 inches Shoulder to Hem: 16.5 inches Armpit to Armpit : 36 inches Waist: 32 inches Condition: This waistcoat is in perfect vintage condition, with very minor bead loss and light thread lifting to some of the gold embroidery. This is in no way apparent when the waistcoat is being worn and only noticeable upon very close inspection. Washing instructions: Hand wash with great care Fabric: Wool, Embroidery, Claw Set Glass rhinestones, Glass Beads, Pearlescent Beads, Gold Beads, Silk Lined Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two.
