About the Item
This pair of vintage 1960s CARDINALI black high waisted wool shorts and Avant Garde oversized belt come from the estate of MARILYN LEWIS! Lewis was the founder and designer of Cardinali from the latter part of the 1960s to the mid 1970s. Her pieces were an instant hit, and immediately flew off the shelves of Saks and Neiman Marcus! The quality and construction was impeccable, thus making the clothing extremely expensive.
These CARDINALI shorts are an original sample, and are soft black ribbed virgin wool with a fantastic fit! High waist, and hits just above the knee. Hidden metal zipper up the side, with hook-and-eye closure. Completely hand-sewn, with heavy attention to detail. Belt features a stretch elastic, with suede leather details. Couture quality! Can easily be dressed up or down. Great with tights are bare legged with a sweater, blouse, or shell. In great condition. Made in USA
