About the Item

Adolfo was a New York designer born in Cuba who designed for the rich and famous all over the world. he became well known for his version of the infamous French bouclé suit originated by Chanel. His versions became just as collectible and desired as the French versions. This particular suit is the most beautiful version we have ever had. The cream color wall boucle is embellished with a cream, yarn and white ribbon on the borders of the jacket and skirt. What makes the suit spectacular are the buttons which are pieces of jewelry. Round embellished rhinestones with a faux black jet faceted center make the suit go from day to the most formal cocktail party. Even the skirt is special. It has a front panel which looks like it’s a wrap skirt, although it conceals a center slit underneath. The skirt measures a 27 inch elastic waist with a 28 inch length. The size tag has been removed so please check flat measurements below. It should fit a size 4 through 6. It’s very collectible suit looks modern today, and will never ever go out of style.. Adolfo Faustino Sardiña (February 15, 1923 – November 27, 2021), professionally known as Adolfo, was a Cuban-born American fashion designer who started out as a milliner in the 1950s. While chief designer for the wholesale milliners Emme, he won the Coty Award and the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award. In 1963 he set up his own salon in New York, firstly as a milliner, and then focusing on clothing. He retired from fashion design in 1993.
