About

Extremely rare COMME des GARCONS oversized knitted sweater decorated with randomly placed holes, circa 1982.

This sweater is typical of the predominantly deconstructed and distressed collections produced during the early 1980s by Rei Kawakubo where she was known to intentionally sabotage knitting machines by loosening screws to create irregularities and intentional errors.

100% wool, gauge knit, v-neck, thick bands of ribbing at cuffs and hem.

This sweater was made under the 'HOMME COMME des GARCONS' label which was the first ever menswear Rei Kawakubo designed for her brand, in 1984 it would become the more well known 'COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS' label.
