Mariano Fortuny Pair of silver printed curtains Venice, circa 1920

Circa 1920/1930 Italy Huge pair of complete curtains printed with light green and silver tones from the famous Venetian designer, Mariano Fortuny, from the Art Deco period. Block Printing on twill cotton and glazed with patterns inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Bouquets, Medici vases, cartridges and stylized pomegranates compose this Baroque decoration. Subtle tonalities of origin ranging from straw-coloured to sky blue and celadon on a silver background. Friezes in borders sewn from the origin. The fabric strips are complete. Good condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 234 x 180 cm and 236 x 178 cm This pair has no Mariano Fortuny signature but is easily identifiable from the famous designer's Venetian production. The slight color variations are normal for Mariano Fortuny. It is a work of the period and not a late reproduction. Glazed cotton from origin. Very rare ! Very slight color depigmentation on the folds of the curtains that have probably been used ... A tear on a border (easily repairable) otherwise very good structural condition, clean and ready to use!
