Antique Lace and Silk Beige Parasol Umbrella Bamboo pole

About the Item

Outstandind and very refined antique lace and silk parasol with a bamboo pole. This French parasol dates from the late 19th/early 20th century. It is crafted from exquisite French lace, possibly Alençon, with a well-defined floral pattern accompanied by scrolls and urns, in a soft ivory color characteristic of the period and also frequently used in bridal fashion. The cylindrical bamboo pole features an elegant and beautifully turned handle with a small nickel-plated metal finial, possibly pewter. It is adorned with a silk tassel and a protective cover, as well as a hand-braided ring to keep it closed and well-preserved. The parasol is in excellent condition, without any damage or repairs. The pole is finished at its top with a sterling silver finial. An exquisite, elegant, and refined piece, very difficult to find in this condition and of this quality and beauty.
