An embroidered floral silk and ivorine framed small handbag, English, 1920s.
About the Item
An exquisite and unique little handbag, with a carved Bakelite and hand coloured frame, in a stylised floral motif, with a beautifully coloured silk 'floral' fabric bag. Lined in chartreuse silk with a delicate silk 'floral' trim, it has a secure clasp, that opens with a firm but gentle pull of the carved Bakelite 'charm' attached to the front of the frame, and is big enough to carry a cell phone, keys and other necessities for occassion out. Both frame and material are original antique pieces, though the bag has been recently made, to the highest spec, with chartreuse piping highlighting the shape. the fabric is embroidered along the edges of each petal, that catches the light and adds to its beauty and lustre. A true little gem.
