Coppola e Toppo Vaseline Crystal Crossover Necklace
About the Item
Coppola e Toppo shaded chartreuse crystal beaded crossover scarf necklace. Unusual vaseline coloring with tonal shading. The graduated beads are woven together in sections which release into graduated larger strands in darker tones. Length 33", Width at woven area 2". Scarf tail 7", Scarf edge 5".
Unsigned, Italy 1960's.
Excellent condition.
The Coppola e Toppo company was formed in the late 1940′s by brother and sister designer duo, Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo in Milan, Italy. After small commissions for Dior and Balenciaga, Elsa Schiaparelli commissioned a line of faux coral bead jewelry, which launched them to the top of the couture fashion echelon. Pucci and Valentino followed with more commissions. This allowed them to increase the number of their jewelry designs under their own trademark, “Made in Italy by Coppola e Toppo”.
