Beautiful pair of antique Chinese foo lions/dogs. The glaze still shines, there are minor chips here and there. Always standing in pairs, foo dogs are fantasy lions in Chinese mythology who serve as guardians to prevent harmful things from happening to the family. This handsome pair is standing in commanding posture. The male, with a paw on a symbolic ball, protects the world, while the female, with a paw on a cub, protects the dwelling. This beautiful pair was perfect for indoor or outdoor use.
