Gilt Bronze Mounted Chinese Canton Famille Rose Porcelain Lamps
About the Item
These elegant lamps are crafted from Chinese Canton famille rose porcelain and mounted with French gilt bronze (ormolu). The lamps feature beautiful vase-form porcelain bodies, which are finely painted with Chinese court scenes, as well as flowers, fruit and foliage. These bodies stand on flared gilt bronze bases, which take the form of clusters of bamboo sticks. Each vase is fitted with two gilt bronze handles, which are similarly cast to imitate bamboo. The porcelain bodies are topped by gilt bronze collars, with wick-raiser knobs. Clear glass chimneys and frosted glass shades, in the shape of flower heads, cover the lights.
The lamps will make a wonderful addition to a living room, bedroom, study or library, be it antique or contemporary in its style.
