Shekhawati Desert Zone, India, Monolithic Stone Pots with Handles

About the Item

In the great Indian desert - the Thar - in a place called Shekhawati, very close to the Indian-Pakistani border, these wonderful pieces were acquired. Monolithic stone pots of various sizes, made in one piece with the handles, are unique. Although we do not know the original use for which they were created, if we know that they are made of a material that does not transfer with water; some of them had blue remains, which indicates that they may have belonged to the brahmanical sects.
