Chinese Export Porcelain Canton Pair of Foo Dog Candlesticks

Chinese export porcelain canton pair of foo dog candlesticks,
circa 1840-1860
The Chinese Export porcelain foo dog candlesticks are modeled with the dogs seated on all fours with three paws showing and facing each other. The dogs with a goofy expression on their face are enameled with an orange ground with gilt decoration looking like fur. They have a short candlestick or joss stick issuing from their backs above an ornate saddle blanket.
