Chinese Green Glazed Ceramic Soy Sauce Storage Jar / Planter, c. 1900

About the Item

A wonderful green glaze adorns this Early 20th Century Chinese ceramic Soy Sauce storage jar. The characters on its front side translate to "Thick Soy Sauce". There are an additional 3 characters engraved on the jars rim. In the modern-day, this would make for a beautiful decorative bowl or as a planter for one's home garden. The marks, stains and fading to the jar that have developed of the decades contributes to its charm. There is a shallow crack on the front side of the jar, highlighted in the last image. However, this does not impact the structure or rigidity of the jar.
