Chinese Qianlong Porcelain Floral Painted Export Teapot

About the Item

A good antique Chinese Qianlong dynasty porcelain export teapot painted with floral designs for the Western market and dating between 1736 and 1795. The small cylindrical bodied teapot has a long raised spout and with an overlapping twin handle with stylized hawthorn terminals. The teapot has a chamfered top edge with a small raised rounded edge holding a recessed cover with a small fruit handle. The teapot is finely painted with floral arrangements to the body with a grape and vine pattern around the shoulder and repeated around the cover with gilding to the lid handle. The teapot is not marked. In good overall condition with a small surface chip to the underside of the cover.
