Japanese Vintage Fukagawa Arita Iris & Bird Painted Porcelain Vase

About

A very fine vintage Japanese porcelain vase, probably Arita Fukagawa, hand painted with a bird amidst flowering iris's dating from the first half of the 20th century. The small bulbous shaped vase has a narrow and short trumpet shaped top and is exquistely painted in polychrome glazes with flowering iris in a watery landscape with a small bird descending on one of the flowers with the decoration highlighted with gilding. The vase has a red painted top rim and is not marked. Offered in good condition with light rubbing to the gilding.
