About the Item
Extraordinary Japanese contemporary museum-quality signed decorative porcelain charger, stunningly hand-painted on a beautiful rectangular-shaped body with a unique interpretation of auspicious mythical giraffes (kirin). Depicted here on the inner surface of this striking piece are mythical giraffes looking heavenward, with humanlike eyes that convey an eerie sense of self-awareness. The artist starts each work with the eyes that leads him to the whole design. The dramatic stripe pattern in green and white on the outer sides of the piece add to the charm and elegance of this unique piece and create a memorable piece.
This artist has drawn on various animals in his work. Having started his career in the venerable tradition of old Kutani porcelain, the artist faithfully draws on at least one of the prime Kutani colors of yellow, green, red, blue and purple in each of his work. He has drawn on various animals in his work. His unique style of working with clay tablets creates awe-inspiring forms and shapes and his artistic expressions on each piece create pieces that are delightful and attract the viewer to get a closer look and explore the shape and the hand-painting.
