Pair of antique Japanese porcelain vases Japanese, early 20th Century Height 86.5cm, diameter 36cm The beautiful Imari porcelain vases in this pair are superb demonstrations of Japanese art and design. Each vase is traditionally shaped, with the bulbous body, narrow neck, and broad rim profusely painted in tones of red and blue. The bodies contain depictions of traditionally dressed figures in idealised, abstracted landscapes, amidst borders of flowers and other motifs. The undersides are monogrammed.
