Large Late 19th Century Imari Charger With Scalloped Rim

About the Item

This substantial piece displays the rich cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt palette associated with high quality Imari porcelain, with decoration carried through to the reverse as well, a detail often seen on finer examples. The scale and strong decorative presence make this charger ideal for display on a wall, shelf, or as a centerpiece on a table or console. The porcelain presents very well and remains in very good condition for its age, with only the most minimal age appropriate wear. A striking and collectible example of late 19th century Japanese Imari.
