Vintage Chinese Hand Painted Porcelain Palace Jar, circa 1960 with Phoenix Motif

About the Item

A vintage Chinese palace jar from the mid-20th century, handmade and painted on porcelain and topped with an animal figure. This tall jar features a phoenix among rocks and flowers. This flower and bird theme is common in Chinese painting, but the phoenix is usually reserved for palace items while yellow and pink peonies are an auspicious motif. The piece is topped with a lid, delicately adorned with an animal, perhaps a lion. With its lovely silhouette and delicate hand painted décor, this Chinese porcelain palace jar, circa 1960 will be an exquisite decorative accent in any homes, whether placed atop a chest-of-drawers, side table or demilune.
