Antique Blackwood and Rosewood Lacquered Cabinet from 19th Century China

About the Item

A Chinese mid-19th century cabinet made with lacquered blackwood and rosewood. This tall cabinet adopts a rectangular shape and features the contrasting details of rosewood and blackwood. The front features two doors with carved brass pulls on narrow plates above five drawers with brass bail handles. Inside the cabinet are two shelves offering great storage capacity. Contrasting with the front and sides, the interior and back are painted in black. This Chinese mid-19th century blackwood and rosewood lacquered cabinet would be an elegant storage unit in most homes, perhaps in a bedroom where it would make a perfect storage cabinet for sweaters, sheets or towels.
