Fine pair of Southern Official’s hat armchairs The crest rail supported by the back posts curving slightly backward at the top decorated with inner spandrels, extending to form the back legs, the back splat in S-curve, curved arm rests with a mid-stile and curved front posts, solid wood seat within an ice-plate edge, cusped arch apron and spandrels between the legs on the front and shaped apron on the sides, foot rest above a shaped apron, double side and single rear straight stretchers Walnut (Hetao mu) Shanxi, 19th century 22 x 17” x 41” H (55.8cm x 43cm x 104cm H) each #32038/39.
