Early 19th Century Chinese Large Sideboard with Everted Ends
About the Item
A very impressive large sideboard with everted ends from Shanxi province, China. The through carvings across the front has very lively and protruding carvings of lions (12 in total) and the "eight treasures", and they are all connected by ribbons. The slim carved panel across the bottom also features relief carving of the eight treasures, which are auspicious symbols of good fortune. The panels at the sides between the legs have carvings of flowers.
Original solid brass hardware and original patina, this piece is in amazing original condition.
