Seen here finished in the dusky hues of Macassar ebony, the Mortimer’s rich tones make it the perfect addition to a study, with accents in dark, sultry colors, such as crimson or emerald green. The gorgeous stripy grain of the Macassar ebony brings texture to the surface and a hint of the organic, complementing the table’s ultra-contemporary profile. With a long, slender tabletop supported by a pedestal of two rectangular legs, the design of the Mortimer is simple and therein lies its power. It takes up the very minimum of visual space as its slim top and svelte pedestal allow plenty of light to pass through. This conveys an airy lightness of form that makes it the easiest of tables to integrate into an interior. To round it all off, both legs have a polished brass inlay that matches that of the handles, a small but divine finishing touch. The small rectangular handles are finished in a polished brass whose golden tones are the perfect complement to the deep Macassar ebony. As opposed to traditional drop handles, these flatter the contemporary mood of the rest of the table. The handles are also available in nickel, or antiqued brass, or bronze, in either a polished or brushed finish. Opt for nickel for rooms with a cooler aesthetic and paler palettes, while the warmer tones of brass and bronze suit interiors with darker furnishings. Cable access points allow for a neat and tidy workspace without any visible cables ruining the aesthetic experience. The cabling works by running down through the back of the pedestal, behind the drawers, to a floor-mounted power socket, or out through a small worm hole at the back of the desk. The interior of the drawers is tinted to match the primary finish for a smooth and seamless integration with the desk's exterior.
