Japanese 19th Century Merchant's Chest with Drawers and Door, Mounted on Wheels

About the Item

A Japanese merchant's chest from the 19th century, with four large drawers and a lateral door concealing additional drawers. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this merchant's chest features a dark brown patina perfectly complimented by ornate cut-out metal hardware. Two large drawers make up the façade's upper section while the lower part showcases two medium size drawers and a small door. This door, the "safe", open to reveal additional drawers. Mounted on four wheels, this 19th century Japanese merchant's chest will make for a great addition to any bedroom, living room or foyer.
