Japanese Gold Lacquer Container or Lidded Bowl in the Shape of a Nashi Pear

About

Unusual lacquer piece which would happily serve you as a lidded bowl, or as a container for something small and precious. Crafted in the image of a nashi pear, the bowl is lined in black lacquer touched with gold, the wave-like patterns so reminiscent of the sea. In a lovely contrast, the lid has been lined in plain red lacquer.
