Jodi Harada Japan, 1995 Pair of lacquer trays with chicken design.   Joji Harada was born in Tokyo in 1949. He exhibited his lacquerware yearly in Okinawa. Okinawa has a long tradition of producing and exporting lacquer. In addition to making original pieces, he researches old lacquerware techniques and reproduces cultural heritage lacquer Artifacts of Nara and Kyoto for academic study. Joji Harada makes works in both Kyoto, his family home and Okinawa where he now lives. Measures: H 19.5 x W 30.5.
