Chinese Exceptional and Large Cloisonne Enamel Pheasant Sculpture, 20th Century
About the Item
An exceptional and large Chinese vintage cloisonne enamel male pheasant mounted on a wooden stand dating from the first half of the 20th century. The pheasant stands on a shaped wooden block with brass claws, and a black enameled body with bright colour detailing and with fine wire work defining the feathers. The pheasant has extended tail feathers with shorter feathers with shaped detailed brass terminals and has a finely detailed head with an open brass beak. The pheasant is not marked. Offered in excellent condition with some minor losses to the top surface of the wooden block.
Provenance: from The Michel Roux Restaurant, Halkin Street, London.
