Chinese Export Silver Dragon Spoon by Wang Hing & Co., Late 19th Century

About the Item

A very fine and charming Chinese export silver spoon in the form of a dragon, by Wang Hing & Co., Qing Dynasty, late 19th century, China. The small spoon masterfully designed with the handle in the form of a prancing dragon holding the gilt bowl of the spoon in its mouth. The undulating body of the dragon well cast with intricate details, especially to the scales. The expressive head very finely worked. Marked "WH" and "90" for Wang Hing & Co. and 90% silver (just under sterling).
