Chinese Qing Dynasty Archaistic Bronze Gui Vessel

About

Well cast and of elegant form. The wide, rounded body rests upon a high foot. Four handles in the form of ouroboros emerge from the shoulders to pass through the body. The body featuring a strong taotie mask design on a Leiwen ground between each handle, with a band of repeating wan symbols bordering the top and bottom. A set of animal masks have been cast under the flared rim. This gui vessel features an overall chocolatey patina.
