Large Meji Period Japanese Bronze Cencer, 1880s

Large Japanese bronze cencer with finely pierced body and lid. The detailed reticulated body with two handles, one handle slightly bent. The bottom with hanging lover ornaments, there are 2 missing ornaments. The finish in the original dark rich patination. Artist-signed on the bottom, this is possibly from the Philadelphia Centennial exhibition.
