A Lovely Pair of Antique Meiji Period Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne vases. 19th C A Fine pair of Japanese Ginbari cloisonne vases , Meiji period (1868-1912), worked with a silver wire and decorated with a pagoda with landscape of mt. Fuji, river and trees reserved against an emerald green and silver ginbari ground. The ginbari technique (similar to guilloche enamel) involves flooding transparent enamel over a patterned metal surface. This creates a shiny mirror like effect, along with clearly preserving the pattern of the underlying metal. Size: 9 cm, one vase is smaller then other for 5 mm. In excellent condition. No stress lines, chips or restoration.
