Ottoman Brass Inkwell and Pen Case Qalamdan

About the Item

Exceptional Turkish etched brass Qalamdan, a traveling scribe's inkwell and pen case. The beautiful dome topped inkwell is rare, it is attached by chain to the pen case, consisting of two tubes for quill or reed pens. Clearly a well used artifact, with black ink still coloring the brass. It can be polished off, but I love the evidence it was much loved and used for many years.
