About

A somewhat modified teak wood dowry chest from a wealthy landlord’s home in central India. The chest is reinforced with iron bars. It retains the original mechanical (not working) lock and the lifting handles. All metal works are hand-forged. The original lock indicates that the lock was probably imported from Portugal.
A rare gem for collectors. It will blend with most country home decors.
Measure: Width 54.5", depth29.5" and height 19".
