19th Century Late Edo Period Meiji Period Wood Black Drawer Chest / Tansu Chest
$2,000

About
We Japanese introduce unique items with unique aesthetics, purchasing routes, and ways that no one can imitate.
This is a chest of drawers from the late Edo period to the Meiji period in Japan.
It may have turned black due to soot over a long period of time.
I feel wabi-sabi.
The height is just right, and it would be nice to decorate it with a vase on top.
Also, because it is so old, there are traces of worm-eaten in the drawer.
A groove is carved on the left side.
This may have originally been something like a shelf on the left side.
I repaired the drawer so it goes in and out smoothly.
