Japanese Temple Shrine Buddhist Monk Juzu Prayer Wood Beads Mala Rosary Necklace
Located in Studio City, CA
A truly magnificent and special work - this beautiful and exceptionally long string of Japanese handcrafted natural wood (perhaps rosewood) Buddhist Juzu mala beads with four large square-like beads called shitenshu beads said to represent the Four Heavenly Kings: Jikko-Ten, Zocho-ten, Hiromoku-ten, and Tamon-ten (Since there are four square beads, the denomination is probably Tendai or Nichiren sect). These rosary-type prayer bead necklaces were used by Buddhist monks in temple prayers / rituals and worn by Samurai as amulets of protection. We have not come across another set of Juzu beads...

Japanese Rare "Tamba Ware" Antique Jar / 1500s / Emerald Green Natural Glaze
Located in Sammu-shi, Chiba
We have a unique Japanese aesthetic sense. And only we can introduce unique items through our purchasing channels in Japan and the experience we have gained so far, in such a way that no one else can imitate. It is a very old jar in Japan. This is a pottery called Tamba ware. Tamba is a historic kiln located in Hyogo prefecture (a prefecture located west of Osaka) in Japan. (The place circled in red on the Japanese map.) It is said to have originated around the 12th century. Also, in Japan, there are 6 kilns with a long history that are still going on. It is one of them. Tamba ware antique jars are rare and difficult to obtain even in Japan. The characteristic of Tamba ware is its beautiful emerald green natural glaze. It is transparent and beautiful. In addition, it has a neat shape and has a luxurious feel. Another feature is that the comb pattern is engraved on the surface. This is a processing method to smooth the uneven surface when making pottery. It is a unique feature of Tamba. The era of this jar is about the 1500s jar. The reason why the era can be specified is that the comb pattern and the "x" marking are unique to the 1500s. Since there was a special feature in the art book, I posted the image. In addition, images of masterpieces of Tamba jars of the same era are also posted. It was also stored at a museum that handles Tamba pottery...
