Fine Pair Japanese "Gold Fish" Hand Cast Bronzes Bulging Eyes and Graceful Tails

About

From our recent Japanese Kyoto Acquisitions A fine pair of antique cast bronze gold fish “kingyo” cast in a graceful animated form, complete with exaggerated bulging eyes and long graceful tail. Handsome Japanese castings are created in a Chinese exotic fish style. Unusual examples rarely found, this is only the second pair we have encountered. Notice the warm brown patina. Dimensions: Each is 2 inches high and 8 inches in length, heavily cast high quality Only one pair. Provenance: Old Shiga collection. Fish are homophones for another word that means affection and love; they are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan. The koi and gold fish have a powerful and energetic life force and symbolize prosperity and success including several lessons individuals often encounter in life and demonstrated by its ability to swim against currents and even travel upstream. Symbolic of good fortune, success, prosperity, longevity, courage, ambition and perseverance. “Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity”: All of our Asian works of art come with our “Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee”.
