Exquisite Japanese hand warmer was originally used as a heating source in a room. Family would sit around the hibachi and warm their hands. Red lacquered woven bamboo with keyaki burl base and interior copper lining. Place on floor with plants or magazines or collection of orchids for a stunning centerpiece. Meiji period, circa 1860s.
