- Japanese Old Wooden Box 1868-1900 / Antique Storage Sofa Table Coffee Table SideLocated in Sammu-shi, ChibaThe wooden box made from the Meiji period to the Taisho period (1868-1900). The wooden box made by combining simple cedar boards. I think it was a box that contained some tools. For many years, soot from the hearth and other parts stuck together and accumulated, resulting in such a black appearance. Don't worry, this soot won't stick to your hands if you touch it. It has a very beautiful black color overall and a simple shape. Good condition. It is a nice wooden box that makes you feel very wabisabi. It is also nice to use as a table or exhibition stand. Things like this are not everywhere. It's rare. Also, in Japan, such things are becoming less and less common. We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and keep them. There are few stores that sell such items at 1st dibs. We sell with...Category

- Adão Coat Peg Large in Chestnut Wood Handcrafted in Portugal by Origin MadeBy Pauline DeltourLocated in Porto, 13The Adão Coat Peg is hand turned from Portuguese chestnut wood by master wood turner Carlos Barbosa. In the true spirit of Origin, the coat peg is named after the craftsman who first made it, Adão Gomes. Designed by Pauline Deltour to be significant in size, the object has distinct concave faces to bring out a sculptural presence. Adão coat peg is available in two sizes, and finished with a natural wax coating. Material: Chestnut Wood As a handcrafted product, each piece is unique. Natural qualities of wood could result in variations in color tone, wood grain and the presence of medullary rays or knots. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns. Designed by Pauline Deltour, made by Carlos Barbosa. The Craftsman Carlos Barbosa and his two sons run a wood working factory in Paços de Ferreira. They produce high quality objects and furniture for both local architects and international clients. The unique thing about them is they stock a very large variety of Portuguese and imported hardwoods, and combine the best of hand and machine processes to make high quality products, in small to medium sized production runs. The Designer Pauline Deltour was born in 1983, in Landerneau, France. She graduated from les Arts Décoratifs in 2007 and has worked for 4 years for Konstantin Grcic in Munich, Germany. She has opened her very own studio in Paris in 2010. Distinguished by being both severe and delicate, its designs reflect a vocabulary which is characteristic of her own personality. Her precise hand, neat lines, carefully selected materials and colour ranges, and the way in which they come together, form the individual identity of this young French designer’s work. Emblematic, hard-hitting seduction is achieved through rare qualities which are as elemental to the design as they are challenging to implement. An iron fist in a velvet glove...Category
