Two-Piece Kitchen 'Mizuya' Tansu, Japanese, Meiji Period

About

Two piece kitchen (Mizuya) tansu, Japanese, Meiji period. Upper portion consist of sliding doors, small pull out door, five drawers. Lower portion has sliding doors and four drawers on the right. Handles are made of hand forged copper, hikites are bronze. The wood is a combination of cedar (sugi), kiri (pawlonia), keyaki (zelkova) and hinoki (fir). Measures: 71 1/2” x 18 5/8” x 60 3/4”.
