Japan very fine six-panel hand-painted screen of a lovely summer Matsuri festival in Nara, ink and gold leaf on paper. It is framed with the original rich black silk brocade border and with the original lacquered bronze embellished wooden frame. The original paper backing still remains to completes this master piece. More photographs are available upon request.

Dimensions: each panel is 68.5 inches high and 24.25 inches wide. The total screen measures 145 inches wide.

Period: Edo circa 1850

Fine quality: ink and gold leaf on paper. The rich gold leaf background and hand painted colors are original and vibrant. This is a remarkable survivor from 19th century Japan.

Provenance: Private collection that decended from the grand father of a four generational antique dealer family near Shigaraki, Japan
