Japanese Rare Antique Pair Hand Painted Flower Wedding screens In Original Box

A fine pair (2) Japanese antique hand-painted six-panel folding screens byobu- each conceived in an attractive and pink flower motif. Likely given as a wedding gift , traditional wedding flowers in Japan include red chrysanthemums and white carnations. Excellent condition including the rare original wooden box which is included. Lovely vivid vibrant colors feature rich gold mist back ground with a plethora of pink and white flowers. Beautifully hand painted mineral pigments on paper. Fine condition. Smaller size makes this pair conveniently installable with multiple possibilities. Accompanied with original black lacquer frames and brass metal ornaments - just the way we like to find them. Dimensions: each screen is 17.5 inches high and 40.5 inches length. Total length of pair screens (end to end) is 81 inches. A special gift, this pair of smaller scale screens are ideal for small wall areas in tea rooms or alcoves tokonoma (toko-no-ma), or simply toko, which is a built-in recessed space in a Japanese style reception room, in which items for artistic appreciation are displayed.
