Vintage Tibetan Thangka Goddess Dakinis
About the Item
A rare offering. This amazing vintage hand painted Thangka depicts the Tibetan female celestial goddess Dakinis, whose ferocious expression subdues negative and demonic forces. In Alidh Asana posture, she wears a garland of human skulls, with a Khartwanga wand resting against her shoulder. Her face wrathful in expression, her feet firmly pressing down on devils masqueraded in human form above lotus base. With her right hand the deity holds a blue Kartika symbolizing severance of all material. With her left hand she drinks blood from a skull cup symbolizing conquest of evil spirits. Dakinis is the Goddess of Life's Turning Points. She represents essential principles within oneself that are capable of transforming negativity into luminous enlightening energy. Thangka is hand mounted in brocade with golden threads. Silk blend muslin cover and ribbons.
