Burmese Small Bronze Mounted Head of the Buddha, Mandalay Period, 19th Century



A charming Burmese Mandalay style bronze Buddha head, Mandalay period, mid to late 19th century, Burma. The bronze head originally part of a larger statue, and broken at the neck. The Buddha's face sweet, and typical of the Mandalay style, with a wide nose, almond shaped eyes, and a pleasant smile upon his lips. The hair still retains much of the original lacquer finish. The face and neck with remnants of gilding. Mounted on a custom metal stand. Measures: Height of head only: 4:5".
