Japanese Stone Buddha Statue 'Nyorai' 1700-1800 Middle-Late Edo Period
$1,400

About
We Japanese introduce unique items with unique aesthetics, purchasing routes, and ways that no one can imitate.
This is a stone Buddha from the middle to late Edo period.
Tathagata, called Amida Nyorai in Japanese.
It is also simply carved.
Probably a small village carved by someone in the people.
It is not as beautiful as a Buddhist priest carves.
However, the expression is gentle and intimate.
It is a rare Buddha statue that cannot be found even in Japan.
Weight: 12.7kg
I don't know the type of stone in detail.
It may be andesite.
