About

A Chinese Ming dynasty palanquin or sedan chair made in the 14th or 15th century. Rich purple and turquoise glazed pottery. A dignitary would be carried by 6 or 8 men while seated in this chair. Glazed pottery representations of objects used during life where an important part of preparing for a good next life. This Piece is a rare design with very good glazes and paint. Collected in early 1990s. Purchased from Art Asia in San Francisco.
