Wood Carved Polychrome Japanese Temple Shrine Shinto Priest Figure, 19th Century

$1,499Asking Price

About

A wonderful piece, depicting a Japanese Shinto (Shintoism) priest in reflection. The wood carving shows clears signs of use and natural wear acquired over years of display. This piece comes from a large collection of Japanese art and artifacts. We have not seen another quite like it. We are listing as Meija period but could very well be Edo period. Would make for a fantastic addition to any Japanese art collection or eye-catching stand-alone work. Dimensions: 17" high, 9.5" wide, 6" deep.
