1960's Vintage Moroccan Caftan with Silver Metallic Floral Silk Brocade

Stunning and elegant Moroccan caftan with silver metallic Moorish floral Dupioni silk brocade. Lavishly embroidered on a beautiful woven Dupioni silk.The flowers are embroidered in metallic silver silk thread adding a very elegant touch. Hand made in Morocco and tailored for a relaxed fit with wide sleeves This long maxi dress kaftan is embroidered and embellished entirely by hand. The kaftan features a traditional neckline, embellished sleeves. It is a slip on, the button does not open, fully front hand knotted looped buttons. In Morocco, fashion preserves its traditional style inherited from great civilizations that found their way to Northwest Africa, such as the Ottomans and the Moors. The exotic elegance of the Moroccan kaftans inspired European and global designers as Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and many more who made the caftan famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Handmade by master seamstresses and Moroccan Artist designer who specialize in the Fine detail of Moroccan embroidery and Moroccan gold trims (sfifa). Condition: Excellent Handcrafted by Moroccan Artist designer, this is a one of a kind caftan, inspired by the tales of Middle Eastern Princess of the Arabian Nights. Handcrafted in Morocco and tailored for a relaxed fit with wide sleeves, it is made in the traditional form of a Moroccan caftan using metallic brocade fabric. It is trimmed in handcrafted “passementerie”. The neckline does up with ball shaped buttons and loops. The body of the garment is loose fitting and flares to the bottom. The sleeves are somewhat bell shaped with an open cuff that does up with metallic gold buttons. The fabric is a rich looking metallic thread blend brocade. This long maxi dress kaftan is embroidered and embellished entirely by hand with detailing around neckline, shoulders and cuffs. One of a kind evening Moroccan Middle Eastern gown.     isually striking vintage Uchikake Wedding Kimono/Robe for ceremonial occasion, circa end of Meiji to Taisho period 1910s-1930s. This bridal outer garment is of a red color that features elaborate and intricate brocade embroidery in gold and silk threads. Using brilliant colored and gold threads, the artisan decorated the kimono with the design of a Japanese nature scene and water garden with pagodas, trees, bridges, and mountain scenes throughout in brilliant colors of green, blue, red and gold.. They form roundel motifs in a highly elaborate layout, especially striking when viewed from the back. The interior of the kimono is also padded with red fabric and weighted down at the bottom trim.
